Fiat 124: 1966-1985
- The Fiat 124 from 1966 to 1978 [124AS, BS, BS1 & 2, & CS1]
- The Fiat 124, marketed as the “Spider 2000” between 1979 and 1982 [124CS2]
- The Pininfarina Spider Europa [in Europe] and Azura Spider [for the North American market] from 1982 to 1985 [124DS].
All variants were designed by Tom Tjaarda. For lovers of Italian cars, named “one of the defining automotive designers of the 20th century” by Jalopnik Magazine in 2017, Tjaarda needs no introduction.

The Fiat 124 [Spider 2000; 124CS2] from 1979 – 1982:
This one’s mine. I’m the third owner, bought her in 1998 for $3,000.00 and have had her for the last 26 years.

The Pininfarina Spider Europa [in Europe] and Azura Spider [for the North American market; both the 124DS model], produced from 1982 to 1985 is still the only car designed and produced entirely in house by Pininfarina.
After a long career with both Pininfarina and Ghia, Tjaarda retired. He could have driven any number of the most beautiful automobiles in the world of his own design. He chose as his personal car the Fiat 124. His 124 was a one-of-a-kind sporting some unusual customizations including, Ferrari inspired tail lamps, and a glass “targa” top.
